Key Information
Day 1
Settle in to your beautiful base
Yoga
Touch down at Palma de Mallorca Airport and get whisked away by your host to the Can Torna Agroturismo, nestled in the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana. Relax into the serene surroundings, take a swim in the pool or lounge on the terrace before meeting up with your fellow adventurers and hiking guides for a chat about the next few days. Your yoga instructor, Mia, will lead the first session of meditation and yoga this evening within the grounds of the agroturismo. Tuck into a delicious welcome meal of typical Mediterranean flavours before setting in for a good night's sleep, ahead of the explorations starting tomorrow.
Day 2
Along the GR221
Hiking
Yoga
After waking up in your peaceful retreat, enjoy a relaxed breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean before hitting the trails for your first taste of hiking. Today's route starts in the town of Valldemossa, ascending the GR221 trail known as the Coma des Cairats (the Archduke Trail). Hike through this area of rugged, forested landscapes past the refuge until the Puig de Gros summit. Continue on to Puig Caragoli with stunning views towards the North Coast and the community of Deià. Begin the descent along the Cami del Arxiduc all the way back to Valldemossa, where you will try the traditional coca de patata – a local recipe of flour, gourd and potato baked in ball shapes and a jealously guarded secret of the bakers here. Head back to the agroturismo for an evening yoga session to stretch out your limbs post-hike, then wind down into another delicious dinner taken late in the day – Spanish style.
Day 3
The Three Peaks of the Tramuntana
Hiking
Delve deeper into the Tramuntana today on a memorable circular route through the heart of the Serra, dominated by the imperious peak of Puig Major. Begin your ascent to three magnificent peaks; first clambering up to Sa Rateta at 1113m, then a small descent and slight climb on to the next summit – Na'Franquesa at 1067m, for views over the lakes below. Descend to a hill linking up to the final summit of the trilogy: Puig de l'Ofre at 1093m. The view from the summit is an incredible 360º panorama of the whole island. Tuck into a picnic lunch here and then take the GR trail back to the road. Head back for dinner and a well-earned sleep after the biggest hike of the trip.
Day 4
From Puerto de Sóller lighthouse to Deià
Hiking
Yoga
Today's route is a real classic of the Tramuntana, linking two of this part of Mallorca's most iconic places: Port de Soller, a laidback beautiful harbour town, and Deia - a stunningly situated artistic village nestle between the mountains and the coast with bohemian feel. Starting from the lighthouse overlooking Port de Soller with cracking views over the Mediterranean, you'll follow the GR221 cutting slightly inland with incredible views of the higher peaks of the Tramuntana while you skirt the coast. As you get closer to Deia you'll pick up 'Camí des Pintors'; The Painters Trail - aptly named with a nod to the area's artistic leanings. This trail leads to a coastal path which offers gorgeous vistas over the sea before reaching the serene Cala de Deià and a dreamy swim spot as reward for your hiking efforts today. In the afternoon you'll explore Deià itself and see why the village inspired countless artists over the years while having time for a drink and snack in one of the artisan cafes and restaurants. Return for an evening of meditative yoga as Mia leads another session in the grounds of the agroturismo, before enjoying dinner and bedding down for the last night.
Day 5
Sunrise yoga and visit Sóller
Rise early today for a sunrise yoga session, taking to the mat one last time with your instructor for a restorative start to your final morning of the trip. Soak up the last of the dreamy agroturismo, grab a swim and enjoy breakfast before heading off to visit the lovely town of Sóller - the town of the same name as the Port de Soller namesake you were overlooking yesterday from the lighthouse. Soller is a picturesque town known for its beautiful landscapes, traditional architecture, and a solid connection to nature and local culture - a visit here is a quintessential Mallorcian experience. Take a stroll through its charming streets and maybe pick up some treats from shops selling fresh produce from its famous orange groves. Your host will then transfer you back to Palma de Mallorca airport for your onward flight home.
*Note: if you have a flight in the morning or early afternoon, you can head straight to the airport from the agroturismo and skip the visit to Sóller.

What is the food like?
Breakfasts at the agroturismo each morning will offer you an array of delicious options, such as fresh tropical fruits, local pastries, breads, cured meats, cheeses, eggs, Spanish tortilla and freshly squeezed orange juice. You'll buy a packed lunch each day, either from the agroturismo or from local shops and bakeries suggested by your guide, which you will take out with you on the trails so you can enjoy a picnic in a scenic spot. You should budget €10-15 per day for your lunch. Settle in for peaceful evening meals back at the agroturismo on their outdoor terrace after your sunset yoga session each day – there will be a variety of options which change daily, but the dishes on offer will always utilise local produce, many of which are grown on the grounds of the agroturismo using organic methods. Mediterranean-style dishes will lead the way, with fresh seafood and vegetables washed down with local wines.
Vegetarians, vegans and other dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for – please just request this on your passenger info form.
What is the accommodation like?
Can Torna Agroturismo
Your base on this trip is a special one. Can Torna Agroturismo welcomes you for a peaceful and restorative stay – a place to enjoy beautiful traditional architecture and stylish rural charm each morning and evening, before and after your hiking escapades. There is an inviting pool and lovely gardens to relax in during your downtime while the yoga sessions are taken on the grounds. The hotel is located close to the small town of Esporles, to the northwest of Palma. You'll stay in twin-share rooms with ensuite bathrooms – unless you request a double room if travelling as a couple or book a private room upgrade if travelling solo.
Please note that customer reviews from 2024 relate to a different accommodation base that was previously used.
Upgrades
For solo travellers looking for their own space, a private room can be booked for an extra charge, see Optional Extras for the price. Please request this at the time of booking – single rooms are limited and subject to availability.
This trip has been rated as Moderate
Anyone with general fitness levels and able to hike for several hours continuously – sometimes on uneven terrain – will be fine on this trip. The elevation gain is fairly sizeable, up to 700m up and down each day, which will get the heart pumping at times to reach the higher points of the Tramuntana. However, the going is steady and the views more than make up for the effort. The yoga sessions are easily manageable and tailored to suit the individual needs within the group. You can simply wait out any of the more difficult postures if necessary, or do an alternative posture as advised by your instructor. The yoga sessions are designed to help you recover from the long hikes as well as to relax and unwind, with a focus on the meditative side of yoga in this tranquil part of Mallorca.
What will I need to carry?
You'll need to have a larger bag suitable for all your belongings which will be transported for you, and then a small daysack to carry personal items during each day of hiking.
Mallorca has a typically Mediterranean climate and is usually lovely and warm. During April in the Tramuntana region you can expect temperatures of around 18-20°C (64-68°F), while the average low temperature can range from 9-12°C (48-54°F). April is considered a transitional month, with mild temperatures and the possibility of occasional rain showers. Spring is underway, and the landscape starts to turn greener.
In May and October, the average highs range from 21-24°C (70-75°F), and the lows around 12-15°C (54-59°F). There is less rainfall in May and the region becomes even more lush and vibrant, while October marks the transition into autumn with lower temperatures towards the end of the month. September is a great time to visit as the weather is still warm, but the intense heat of summer has subsided, with average highs of 25-28°C (77-82°F), and lows of 17-20°C (63-68°F).
The sometimes uncomfortably high temperatures and greater tourist numbers in July and August make this a less desirable time to visit Mallorca, so we are not running group departures during this period (if you are interested in a private booking during July and August please feel free to enquire as this can be accommodated, subject to availability).
Under delivered
I was very disappointed to have booked a twin room only to find I had to share a bed with my friend. The manager was not interested in our situation and made it clear there was nothing they could do blaming it on much better adventures. This affected my holiday in terms of not allowing me to fully rest and get the sleep I needed to enjoy my holiday. I paid a lot of money for this holiday and wouldn't recommend this company.
We are sorry to hear of the issues experienced with the hotel management and the lack of available twin bedrooms on this date. The host in Mallorca has rectified this problem by switching to an alternative hotel base for this trip in 2025. All future groups will now stay at ‘Can Torna Agroturismo’, a traditional rural property with all of the amenities needed to accommodate groups comfortably.
Adam, MBA Operations Team
I’ve have just finished the
I’ve have just finished the Hiking and Yoga in Mallorca. It was my first experience of Much Better Adventures and it exceeded my expectations. The accommodation, food and organisation of guides were excellent ; as were the guides. I would have no hesitation in booking with Much Better Adventures again.
Algueria Blanca was in a
Algueria Blanca was in a beautiful setting at the foot of the mountains. A tranquil setting for the yoga, sitting by the pool or on your individual terrace. I loved all the individual potted plants and flowers dotted around the hotel. Aina and Midori were really fantastic as guides, thoughtful, knowledgeable and great company. Tara the yoga teacher was serene and pitched the classes perfectly for the group. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and it was a pleasure to enjoy them on the sunny terrace. It was my first time doing an organised group holiday and I really enjoyed every minute. It was so well organised and I would definitely recommend this trip.
The best adventure
This was my first experience of MuchBetterAdventures, joining a group hiking/ yoga holiday, also my first time visiting Mallorca. In every way this holiday exceeded my expectations and from start to finish was one of the most enjoyable experiences in have had in recent years. The accommodation was stunning, the organised hikes and yoga were very well run. The hike leaders were very friendly and inclusive. Although i was the oldest person in the group ( in my 60's) I felt safe and relaxed the whole time. I'm already planning my next trip!
Great 5 days in Mallorca
The 5 days of this yoga and hiking retreat were just amazing. The whole hotel, the rooms and the food were very good to start with. Even better were our three guides Midori, Mia and Miguel. They took such good care of us and made sure we always felt comfortable. Our group had such a good vibe and everybody was so easy und laid back. I have done a couple of similar retreats in the past and I must say this has been one of the best.
Wild side of Mallorca
The trip was acceptable but disappointing and not value for money and there were a few disappointments. Starting with the positives the Hiking was fantastic. Miguel & Mi did such a wonderful job and we all so appreciated all the effort they went to, to give us a great trip both on and off the mountain!
The hotel was beautiful but food was an issue. It was presented beautifully and delicious but I have allergies and felt really quite uncomfortable at times that they were being adhered to. They didn’t seem to know what was going on and it made very nervous.
I was also glad that I paid extra for a single room. Others who had shared ended up on uncomfortable sofa beds or even sharing a bed. Picnics got cancelled after the first day.
The yoga was disappointing. I decided to go to a studio in Palma instead and had a wonderful experience there.
I’m afraid to say that although the hiking was brilliant and Mi did a wonderful job the who trip was just not as described. It just did not feel value for money.
Please also see private feedback
Please also see private feedback below. The accommodation was very beautiful with amazing views and I can appreciate why it is popular as a wedding resort! However, it is not well suited to this type of holiday group. Breakfasts started late, they refused to provide lunches and dinner on the last day, and there were no choices at dinner.
Stunning and memorable trip
I’d been really excited about doing this trip; and now having done it I don’t think I could find a single fault.
The three hikes were each different and unique, but all equally spectacular: a great way to see the natural beauty of Mallorca. The accommodation at the Agrotorismo Alqueria Blanca was high quality: in a beautiful rural location with plenty of historic charm, and felt like good value; the garden and views were are super setting for the yoga. And the food was excellent, local and varied throughout.
The trip was easy to book and our guides and hosts Midori and Miguel were excellent: friendly, organised and made a big effort to engage everyone in the group. Also really enjoyed the stops at Valldemossa, Deià and Sóller after the hikes.
One thing to be aware of if you are considering this trip is that the itinerary is pretty packed: this suited me, but if you are looking for a bit of down time alongside it would suggest you tag a couple of days on at the beginning or the end to enjoy Mallorca’s beaches or hang out in Palma.
Thanks to Much Better Adventures and the Spanish team: will be looking for another!
Mallorca Hiking & Yoga
This was my first visit to Mallorca and it was an unexpected delight to see the wild side of the island - far from the resorts and strips.
The 3 hikes were varied, challenging but well-paced. Along the way, we had plenty of time for photos, chats with our new friends and enjoyed our packed lunches from a mountain-top view or cooled off with a dip in the sea. Each hike ended in a picturesque town with a well earned beer and ice-cream.
In the evenings, we had yoga outside in the beautiful grounds of the hotel. I’m relatively new to yoga but it was ideal to stretch our tired legs after a day on the trails.
The breakfasts were plentiful, setting us up for the day ahead and our dinners were catered by a local restaurant and were simply delicious.
I can’t speak highly enough of our guide Midori who went above and beyond to make sure our group had the best time during our short stay in Mallorca - and she was ably assisted by Miguel on our hikes.
There was little downtime in the itinerary but just enough time to enjoy the pool or stroll the grounds before dinner - but that’s perfect for me.
I would highly recommend this trip!
An unexpected view of Mallorca
This trip was an extraordinary experience and the Tramuntana mountains are startlingly beautiful. The scenery is varied, from woods to stony peaks – all of it is gorgeous. The views keep you constantly in wow mode, and always with deep blue sea close by. This was my first visit to Mallorca and it was unlike anything I’d have expected from the island. Visiting towns like Deia and Soller was great too, but the best part of the trip was the mountain trails that are only accessible on foot.
Much Better Adventures organised everything brilliantly, and our guides, Midori and Miguel, were exemplary. I’d prepared for the distance and the ups and downs, but the factor I found most challenging was the heat, even in May (Dorset just doesn’t reach those temperatures!) and I found I needed a slower pace than some of the other participants. Midori and Miguel made sure everyone was looked after, and I was glad of those experienced guides -and I also really appreciated the friendly and welcoming group dynamic that didn’t make me feel I was slowing everyone else up.
The accommodation was wonderful (comfortable beds, an amazing terrace with lemon trees growing close by, and goats trotting by in the morning, collar bells tinkling), and the food was extraordinarily good – particularly the plentiful multi-course breakfasts. Ripe local tomatoes and local fish were especially delicious, and the steak on our final night was wonderful (the vegetarian and vegan options available looked fantastic too).
One of the high points was getting into the sea, clambering down to get into that enticing water ahead of the final section of the walk to Cala Deia. I was really glad I’d slipped a pair of beach shoes into my rucksack. If I was doing this trip again, I’d walk straight up to Deia from Cala Deia and spend a little more time in the town, rather than pausing in Cala Deia, which was quite crowded and busy. There were no low points: it was a great trip, Midori and Miguel were fantastic, and I feel I was particularly lucky to find myself in such a great group.
Hiking and yoga on the wild side of Mallorca
I was really looking forward to this trip and it exceeded expectations !
Just loved the 3 varied hikes, including stops in pretty villages and dips in the sea. Being outside all day was a huge luxury - right up to evening yoga in the beautiful grounds with the personable Christina - ideal for stretching the old legs after a day’s walking.
The views were fab & waking up to just the sound of goats’ bells and swallows was so great.
The places we saw and the accommodation were great, but the group dynamic (8 Brits) meant it really worked.
A huge shout out to our awesome guide Midori who from the meeting place at the airport on day 1 through to the last day brought everything together just perfectly, seconded by the attentive Miguel. The trip would probably not have been the same without their expertise, great sense of humor and also excellent driving. They went over and above to make sure everyone was ok at all times.
The meals were really tasty & copious .
To enjoy this trip to the full, make sure you are capable of walking for a couple of hours a day up and down steep slopes and also on uneven terrain at times.
Try and organize your flight times to enjoy Palma before meeting up on the first day and to make the most of what’s on offer the day of departure.
a LOVELY escape!
I am so glad I decided to go on this trip. Mallorca is beautiful and our guides did an amazing job of giving us a taste of the island. I was so happy to spend time with such a kind, conscientious, and fun group of co-adventurers.
The hikes were as billed - moderate in difficulty in terms of terrain, elevation, and distance. There were beautiful views every minute. Each hike was unique from the others, which made for a very rich experience!
The yoga was gentle and seemed appropriate for all levels of practice. Expect more breathwork than intense vinyasa.
The hotel was quite possibly the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. Spacious rooms, gorgeous grounds, incredible views. And, the food was unbelievable. Expect a variety of Mediterranean flavors with lots of color and large portions. We were served a set menu (no options), which felt totally appropriate. The hotel was super accommodating to additional requests/dietary restrictions.
Overall, quite a beautiful trip :)
Loved it!
Everything was great, from the challenging hikes, the amazing views and the yoga lessons to the stunning accomodation, exceptional food and lovely people. Just be aware that there can be major changes to the itinerary and the days are quite intense and packed. But everyone involved made sure we all feel comfortable and have a great time. I really recommend the trip!

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.
What's the number?
It works out on average at 108kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.
The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.
But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:
- Driving 1000miles/1609km would be approx. 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person if there was 2 of you in it).
- A return economy class flight London - New York would be approx. 1,619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
- 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approx. 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.
What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.
Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
The Hatha style yoga sessions will focus on healthy postures, dynamic movement, breath work and integral well-being.
Tips are not included in the trip cost. These are entirely at your discretion and are non-compulsory on this trip. Of course, if you feel that your guides provided an exceptional experience then you are welcome to tip as much as you feel is appropriate. You should factor in tipping 10% on top of the bill in any bars and restaurants during the trip.
The drinking water in Mallorca is perfectly safe to drink. You should fill up a reusable bottle or two from the agroturismo each morning before heading out for that day's hiking.
This is a centre-based trip, so your luggage will remain with you in your room at the agriturismo for the duration of the trip.
There are plentiful flights into Mallorca, so in the event your flight is cancelled, your airline will arrange alternative transport and your host will adjust your collection time from the airport.
If bad weather affects any of the hiking routes in the higher part of the Serra de Tramuntana, your host will deviate to a more sheltered part of the island for an alternative hike.
No. You'll need to have a larger bag suitable for all your belongings which will be transported for you, and then a small daysack to carry personal items during each day of hiking.
This trip visits locations where daytime temperatures can be extremely high during the times of year when this trip operates. High humidity and limited access to shade can also be factors, and warm temperatures can continue into the nighttime, which additionally influence the body’s ability to cool down. Personal care should be taken to keep cool as best possible in the conditions, such as wearing appropriate clothing and proper hydration. Very high temperatures can impair an individual’s physical abilities to perform an activity that they may otherwise be able to do competently at cooler temperatures. People may experience symptoms associated with dehydration and Heat Stroke. Your guide(s) are trained to mitigate the risks associated with high temperatures, by carefully managing the intensity of the activity, and to provide the appropriate support response should someone feel ill during the trip. Should you experience health issues during your trip you should inform your guide immediately so the proper care can be provided.
